What is Avago management saying about Levementum's participation in their CRM implementation?
- "on time, on budget and to scope", and in the process had made "Avago Technologies a more competitive company."
- "contributed in very unique and specialized ways, contributing value where no one else could."
- "received positive and enthusiastic feedback from Senior Managers across Avago and, even more importantly, from our Partners and Customers."
- "Bottom line, I do not believe the Phoenix Project would be as successful without the Levementum Team."
Avago Technologies provides an extensive range of analog, mixed-signal and optoelectronic components and subsystems to tens of thousands of manufacturers around the world. According to their own website, Avago Technologies may well be the world's oldest startup. Overnight, Avago became the largest privately-held independent semiconductor company in the world. And the only new company in Silicon Valley with a 40-year track record.
Key Challenges
Having experienced such dramatic growth, Avago soon outgrew its existing CRM system and wanted to graduate to the next level by improving and enhancing their CRM procedures to wiht the following objectives:
- Process Quotes from end users and the distributors
- Implement Quote approval process based on company policies
- Handle the receipt and process of all Design Registration (an essential Avago task)
- Process all SSD & POS transactions
- Fully control the Channel Inventory and accommodate timely 2-way communications with Channel Partners
- Implement a more simplified and global pricing policy, utilizing both contract and MPP pricing methodologies
- Be proactive in tracking Design win activity
- Implement greater Design wins with EBV through transaction via RosettaNet
While their then-current ORACLE system did offer a few of these items, and implied functionality with the others, a concentrated 16-months effort failed to fully deliver the desired improvements.
Solution
Levementum was called upon to help Avago realize their goals by replacing their current CRM system with the Model N solution. In this joint Model N PSO and Levementum venture, Levementum was responsible for the data migration effort and global change management and training programs. Unlike other Model N/Levementum projects, it was the scale of the data conversion in terms of volume and complexity that far exceeded a standard Model N implementation.
Results
In just over 6 months, Levementum had completed a successful delivery of all items "on time, on budget and to scope", and in the process had made "Avago Technologies a more competitive company." These quotes (and the ones below) from Chip Schmitt, IT Manager at Avago, were stated only a week after the Levementum final delivery. Within that week, Chip Schmitt noted that he had personally "received positive and enthusiastic feedback from Senior Managers across Avago and, even more importantly, from our Partners and Customers." The increased efficiencies and productivity benefits gained by Avago was clearly expressed by Chip Schmitt's statement, that Levementum's "contribution to Avago's ability to conduct key business processes cannot be overstated." While the Model N solution was received extremely well as being the best fit solution for all of Avago's CRM needs, it was the efforts of two individuals at Levementum in particular that were highlighted by Avago. Doug Guilbeau, Managing Director and Naomi Choi, Implementation Consultant of Levementum were both recognized as key catalysts for the success of the project in that they both "contributed in very unique and specialized ways, contributing value where no one else could."
Doug Guilbeau's two decades experience implementing application software, including Model N, for global manufacturers and distributors were quickly recognized by Avago. Chip Schmitt found that Doug Guilbeau's, "understanding of the Model N application and of the semiconductor industry brought wisdom" to the whole Project. With his wealth of expertise, Doug Guilbeau was advisor, counsel, trainer and key resource for all aspects of the project.
The bottom line on the project from Chip Schmitt was "Bottom line, I do not believe the Phoenix Project would be as successful without the Levementum Team."
"Avago is a multi-billion dollar company with users all around the world and it was one of the largest Model N implementations. We (Levementum) lead the entire implementation and adoption program, and were responsible for all the data conversion. It was the largest ever data conversion for a model N project with over 1.5 million records of data to clean and load. At the end of the day, our satisfaction in the successful completion of this task was exceeded only by Avago's quick realization of the benefits and efficiencies resulting from the project".
